Pomodoro last night, and it deals with many of the issues I have been facing while working on my thesis at UCSC. I am attempting to use it today. The creators seem to give everything away for free, which is awesome, so I will list the 5 steps here:
Choose a task to be accomplished
Set the Pomodoro to 25 minutes (the Pomodoro is the timer)
Work on the task until the Pomodoro rings, then put a check on your sheet of paper
Take a short break (5 minutes is OK)
Every 4 Pomodoros take a longer break

I just finished my 3rd Pomodoro, currently tracking them at: tomatoi.st, a free web app. Tomorrow I will try diving deeper into the technique.
